Jay blakley
Owner and Director of Player Development
With over 30 years of teaching and coaching experience, Jay is a highly skilled and knowledgeable hockey development specialist. His focus is on providing elite-level skill training to players of all ages and skill levels. Through over 10,000 one-on-one skill development sessions, Jay has helped thousands of players elevate their game and reach their full potential.
In addition to his coaching expertise, Jay has made significant contributions in various coaching positions. He has served as the Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach for the Calgary Canucks AJHL team, as well as the Team Leader and Bench Coach for Hockey Canada's Under 18 National Team Selection Camp. Jay has also held the position of Associate Head Coach at the EDGE School for Athletes for Minor Midget AAA, leading the team to a RAMHL Championship victory.
As a scout, Jay has worked with respected organizations such as the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, the WHL's Portland Winterhawks, and the AJHL's Camrose Kodiaks. He has also scouted for Team Pacific in the World Under 17 Championships and held the role of Head Scout for Hockey Alberta's U17 and U16 programs. His scouting experience has allowed him to excel in identifying and evaluating talent at the highest levels of the game.
Equipped with certifications in high performance, theory levels, and player safety, Jay prioritizes the well-being and growth of athletes. He is committed to creating a positive and supportive environment that fosters skill development and personal growth. murad zaamout
IHead Instructor
Murad Zaamout is a Calgary-born Player Performance Coach in his second year with Professional Hockey Development. Known for his technical precision and strong developmental background, he has built a reputation for elevating players at every level.
Murad finished his minor hockey career with the Calgary Royals in the AEHL before moving on to junior hockey with the Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones. His coaching career quickly expanded across both Canada and the United States, where he has taken on impactful roles in high-level development.
During his time in the U.S., Murad coached within the Cincinnati Cyclones organization at the 14U AAA, 16U AA, and 10U A levels, while also working as a development coach in the Northern Kentucky community and with the NKY Norsemen program. Prior to that, he served as Head Coach of the Calgary Roar Hockey Academy U15 team, leading the group to a finals appearance and helping establish a strong development standard.
Murad is a USA Hockey Certified Instructor and a Certified Power Edge Pro (PEP) Instructor. He has worked with thousands of athletes across North America—ranging from grassroots players to elite AAA, Junior, WHL, ECHL, and professional athletes. His coaching is defined by strong technical foundations, clear detail-driven teaching, and a consistent ability to identify exactly what each athlete needs to progress efficiently and confidently.
